OneCause Pricing vs GalaBid (2026): Plans and Fees

OneCause Pricing vs GalaBid (2026): Plans and Fees

OneCause pricing is built around annual packages. Its Professional Auction & Event package costs $2,995 a year, OneCause also lists a Pay-As-You-Go plan, and its payment processing rates start from 2.0%. GalaBid prices per campaign instead, with published pricing and 100+ features on every plan: a Free plan with no platform fee, a Pro plan at 4.9% with no tip prompts, or a $1,250 flat fee.

So which costs less depends on how often you fundraise. From about three campaigns a year, OneCause's $2,995 annual package is cheaper than GalaBid's $1,250-per-campaign flat fee. If you run fewer campaigns, want to set up yourself without a sales process, or want payments going to your own Stripe account, GalaBid is likely the better fit. Plus, GalaBid's Free plan has no platform fee.

Note: Pricing was last checked October 2026.

That compares software costs only, before card processing; confirm with OneCause what its annual package covers for your fundraisers.

A Free plan that shares tips with your cause

On GalaBid's Free plan, a default tip to GalaBid is added at checkout. Supporters can change it, including to zero, and GalaBid shares 10% of tips with your cause. If supporters opt out of the tip, there's no financial penalty for your fundraiser.

Card processing at your own Stripe rate

How a four-person nonprofit turned an online silent auction into twice the funds

At a glance

  • Organization: Women's Empowerment Coalition (WECO), which supports local, community-based projects for gender equity in five countries, mostly women's social enterprise and girls' education programs
  • Team: four people, with co-founders in Portland and Austin
  • Used GalaBid for: a virtual silent auction, run over four or five days
  • Result: a follow-up appeal about a month later doubled the amount raised through GalaBid

The challenge

WECO's team was tired of crowdfunding. As co-founder Jenny Clark put it, they needed something different, something more fun for the team and for the people they were asking for support. With a few donated items in hand, they decided to try a silent auction. A virtual event felt more manageable than an in-person one, and they wanted it to be engaging and interactive without overburdening anyone.

The other platforms they looked at had fees and a lot of technical complexity. For a team of four, they didn't need all the extra features and subscriptions. They wanted something that fit their budget, was practical to use, wouldn't add up fees, and wouldn't give them a lot to learn.

How they used GalaBid

Jenny found GalaBid approachable, both for her team and for supporters. WECO already had a Stripe account on its website, so linking it was easy. Setting up the auction took her maybe three or four hours, partly because she enjoyed doing the branding and writing the item descriptions. She didn't run into any problems and never felt she needed someone to walk her through it.

To fill the catalog, the co-founders went to businesses they knew in their cities. A mid-range ask, a $50 or $100 gift certificate, got a good reception, so they could put together baskets. A board member offered an experience at their apartment in Paris. After the auction, the team followed up with winners and coordinated delivery of their items.

The results

  • Easy and fun for supporters. WECO got a lot of feedback that the auction was easy and fun, and that people enjoyed seeing others bidding.
  • More for their programs. Jenny says the lack of fees meant all of the proceeds could go directly to their programming.
  • Twice the funds. The team used the auction as the springboard for a follow-up appeal about a month later, thanking everyone who took part and inviting anyone who missed out to donate. That doubled the amount raised through GalaBid.
  • Ready to do it again. WECO hasn't needed to run one this year, as other fundraising streams have taken priority, but Jenny would absolutely do it again and prefers it to crowdfunding.

How a 400-guest research gala raised over $96,000 in its first year on GalaBid

At a glance

  • Organization: Dravet Syndrome Foundation, a small US nonprofit that funds research specific to Dravet syndrome, a rare seizure disorder
  • Event: Its largest gala, held in St. Louis for eight years and hosted by a local family, with more than 400 guests
  • Used GalaBid for: The gala, for the first time, after trying two other platforms
  • Result: Over $96,000 raised at the one event

The challenge

The St. Louis gala is a big night: silent and live auctions, a paddle raise the foundation calls Bid for a Cure, and a local band to dance the night away. Its guests span a wide range of ages.

GalaBid was the third platform the foundation had used for the event. Many older guests had found the previous two very difficult to use, so the team went looking for something more user-friendly and easier.

How they used GalaBid

Two things stood out when the team found GalaBid. First, guests didn’t need an account just to look at the auction items. On the previous platform, they had to create one even to browse. The foundation wanted guests to see the items and descriptions first, and only create an account once they wanted to place a bid.

Second, invoices. If a guest didn’t want to enter a credit card right away, the team could send an invoice after the event, which made it easy for them to pay afterwards.

When the team needed help, Meredith Bankston used GalaBid’s live chat and found it very helpful, quick and responsive.

The results

  • Over $96,000 raised at the gala, with more than 400 guests.
  • “A game changer.” That’s how Meredith described the foundation’s first year with GalaBid.
  • Fewer barriers to bidding. Guests could browse every item without an account, and pay by invoice after the event if they preferred not to enter a card.
  • Planning ahead. A few guests asked how to place a bid, so this year the foundation plans to have a volunteer or staff member dedicated to the silent auction room to answer questions. Meredith is also interested in using GalaBid for ticketing too.
