A large and impressive fundraising event for a very worthy cause

Bill Blenkarn, Alexander Du'Bel Foundation In December the Alexander Du'Bel Foundation ran their inaugural Gala Dinner to raise funds to grant wishes for children with life limiting illnesses and we were privileged to facilitate the silent auction for this extremely worthy cause. On the night of the spectacular event more than 650 guests arrived at Battersea Evolution to find the bar area amazingly transformed into a New York street scene via enormous rear projected screens, a real yellow cab and even a hot dog stand. Once guests had settled in with a drink, staff speedily registered over 200 bidders on GalaBid and the bids soon started to roll in. 

The sparkling setting for dinner was then revealed in dramatic fashion with a bang and the disappearance of the screens. Throughout the evening guests enjoyed top notch entertainment including The Jersey Boys and the Drifters but fundraising also played a starring role with guests digging deep for the fantastic prizes on offer. The silent auction display was impressive and many guests came to browse. Also, the GalaBid leader board was displayed for the majority of the evening on large screens all around the room which helped keep the fundraising top of mind. As we always see, guests were delighted to be able to bid from their own smart phones and enjoyed the bidding process especially when they received their outbid texts. Tablets were also to hand to cater for any bidder who preferred the personal shopper experience.
