Can I ask unsuccessful silent auction bidders to donate?

Yes. Link your donation item in the unsuccessful bidder message and losing bidders are prompted to give instead.

Can I claim Gift Aid on donations made through GalaBid?

If your organisation is an HMRC-recognised charity or CASC and the donor makes a valid declaration, yes. GalaBid records donor details for your claim; you submit the claim to HMRC.

Do I need to be a registered charity to collect donations?

No. Sports clubs, schools, PTAs, community groups and individuals raising money privately can all use GalaBid. Gift Aid is only available to registered charities and CASCs.

Do donors get a receipt?

Yes. A branded receipt is sent by email or SMS the moment the donation is made. Complete the invoice details in Setup so it carries your charity number and address.

Can donors give anonymously?

Yes. Donors can choose whether their name appears in the activity feed and on the leaderboard.

Can I use GalaBid just for donations?

Yes. Create a campaign with one or more donation items and nothing else. There is no maximum you can raise.

How quickly do we receive our funds?

Immediately into your Stripe account. GalaBid does not hold funds. Stripe's standard UK payout schedule then applies, which you control in your Stripe dashboard.

Is GalaBid an alternative to JustGiving or Enthuse for donations?

You can set up one or more donation items on GalaBid and connect a Stripe account to receive payments. The difference with GalaBid is funds settle to your own account rather than you nominating a charity for the funds to be allocated to.  GalaBid does not currently offer regular monthly giving or peer-to-peer sponsorship pages.
