What is the difference between a live and silent auction?

A live auction has an auctioneer in the room taking bids by raised hand or paddle. A silent auction runs on paper or online, with bidders entering bids and rebidding when outbid.

Can GalaBid host an online live auction?

You can list items, accept pre-bids before the live auction, and process winning bids through the platform. Bidders cannot bid online and in the room on the same live item at the same time.

Can I accept pre-bids on live auction items?

Yes. Pre-bidding lets supporters bid on a live item in advance, and can be switched off before the item goes to the auctioneer. All pre-bid amounts and bidders are captured for later use.

Can I list live auction items to be viewed only?
