How does our tipping model and 10% revenue share work?

During checkout, participants are asked to tip GalaBid to support the platform. This allows GalaBid keep the platform running and provide support by real-humans (not bots) 7 days a week. As an extra bonus, GalaBid shares 10% of all tips with the fundraiser, amplifying their impact.

Are the tips mandatory?

While the tip is suggested, it's not mandatory. Participants can change the tip percentage or enter a custom tip amount, including 0.

If it's "Free", how does GalaBid keep going?

The tips GalaBid receives help support and sustain the platform, allowing us to continue offering our services to great causes (just like yours!) at no cost.

What happens if participants don't tip to GalaBid?

Some participants will tip, some won't. Either way the platform remains free to the fundraiser.

What about payment processing fees?

Payments are powered by Stripe. You can create or connect a Stripe account from within GalaBid and funds go straight from Stripe to your bank account – they never pass through GalaBid. GalaBid does not mark up Stripe fees. Most campaigns ask donors to cover these fees (easy to enable in your settings), or you can choose to absorb them. Making the service fee mandatory allows your cause to keep 100% of the funds raised. Registered nonprofits may also be eligible for discounted Stripe rates.
